Every year war and poverty destroy the lives of millions of people. In today’s conflicts, 90% of the victims are civilians.
EMERGENCY is an independent and neutral organisation that provides high quality and free-of-charge medical and surgical assistance to victims of wars, landmines and poverty.
From 1994 to date, EMERGENCY has intervened in 14 countries, building seven hospitals, four rehabilitation centres, three paediatric centres, a maternity centre, a cardiac surgery centre, 56 first aid posts and health centres.
In EMERGENCY’s hospitals, approximately 1,600 members of national staff are employed (health, administrative and service), coordinated by about 120 international staff members that, other than supervising activities, are concerned with the training of local personnel, in particular regarding specialisations.
All funds raised through the sale of artworks will be used for sustaining the Paediatric Centre of Bangui.
